Solar Eclipse @ Reno !!

The Princess and the P (Professor that is) on assignment, by special request.

We started our day with a River Walk along the Truckee River. People are fishing.

Lots of beautiful sculptures with fountains, more fountains with sculptures.

Then a walk by the Rock Wall Haven, five levels of challenge.
Two guys took on the upper level climb, but we did not watch.

At the planetarium I prepare with double protection.  Pin-hole test on ground.

I thought we could get a view by reflection, but it was still to bright to look at.

Two photos courtesy of professional we met at the college planetarium.

Third one has double exposure. Fourth was our own capture of Total in center.

Many people shared their special glasses, so that we saw the entire eclipse.
Clouds came by to spoil the view, but people were taking pictures anyway.
It was not the ‘Ring of Fire’ expected. It was more of a Ring of Light – a Halo!

Our walk back finds a couple of trees we have not seen, nor could identify.

Sunset did not show the crescent moon.

The princess finds her carriage in time.

On the flight back I saw a pancake rainbow.
It was ‘full circle’ on the top of a flat cloud.

Imagine that! A Pancake Rainbow!

Taking the Fifth in Seattle

On our way to the top of the world, we express our concerns for the park.
As always, Doug tries to “straighten out” those trees and Vickie just has a
“whale of a tale”.

DSCN5587DSCN5589

Which came first: The flying pig or the lobster snail? Now extinct, of course.

DSCN5590DSCN5591

Are these puffer fish from the petting zoo? Strange art works as a fountain.

DSCN5594DSCN5600

Doug over heard something about the last supper; People froze in their tracks.

DSCN5597DSCN5601

Just what the kids really wanted. Along with art that puts you on edge.

DSCN5603DSCN5605

Vickie wants a smaller copy at home. Wind speed was zero for the aerometer.

DSCN5609DSCN5612

Look behind you. Nobody watching, look the other way – silver paint on a tree?

DSCN5616DSCN5620

Eggheads have hatched another idea for abstractions of dinosaurs. Awesome.

DSCN5627DSCN5630

These objects of art, we truly appreciate. You’ll have to come see yourself.

Professor Now, finds a spot. Spare parts for water slide?

DSCN5644DSCN5649

Beautiful, crazy, works for me! Sneak a peak over the fence.

DSCN5652DSCN5655

They all look like some kind of plants from the ocean, desert and the mountains.

DSCN5650DSCN5654

Experimental Music Project, ski slopes? And this is where gas works park is found.

DSCN5661DSCN5663

Skyline; not so special without the space needle, even from within the restaurant.

DSCN5673DSCN5674

Special service came with the meal. We forgot to check out these designs.

DSCN5668DSCN5662

Valet parking was worth the effort. Making for a day of celebration well spent.
